Can someone let me know where data is stored for dataverse?

We have set up a test instance with an initial 50GB (which I mounted in /usr but wondering if it should go to postgres, no data has been loaded yet), but am being asked to "give the server 5TB". That's not a problem, but I need to know where to apply the space?

For example, if our user wants to load a 1TB dataset, where is it stored? In /usr where I have glassfish and solr installed or /var where the postgres db lives? Or somewhere else?

Thanks!
