Hi all,

I use dataverse 4.9, Is there a way to export a sub-dataverse and import it into a new instance of Dataverse?
With all datasets and metadata.

Thanks in advanced,

Alejandra Tenorio.

I'm not sure how helpful this is but I'm reminded if the old "round tripping the contents" thread from the DVN days: https://groups.google.com/d/msg/dataverse-community/07h0Ca-Ai1I/qyq3l-lakc0J

I would suggest creating an issue at https://github.com/IQSS/dataverse/issues

I'd also like to invite others on this list to share their thoughts.

Thanks,

Phil

Phil,

Yes, it's the same idea, export the content to another DVN or another system in an exportable package that is fully self-contained and self-describing.

In dataverse 4.9, is it possible to do it?

Thanks!

I don't want to oversell what's possible but I think that there have been cases of data being depositing into Harvard Dataverse that was later moved to another installation of Dataverse. I'm unsure of the details, though.

In terms of a self contained exportable package, are you aware of OAI-ORE and BagIt work Jim Myers from QDR described at https://groups.google.com/d/msg/dataverse-community/NZydpK_zXO0/vuvhnHL7AQAJ ?

Thanks,

Phil
