I haven’t looked at this code recently, but associating your ORCID with an existing non-ORCID account should be fully reversible. (Account Info/Edit Account/Remove ORCID).

Right now, I think you’d have to remove the entry for the user by setting the authenticatedorcid column to null for their entry in the authenticateduser table in the database. Since this is covered by the GDCC ORCID grant, I’ll put it on my list to add APIs for add/delete.
