Hi,
 according to  http://guides.dataverse.org/en/latest/admin/harvestclients.html?highlight=harvest to start harvesting metadata from a remote OAI repository, you first create and configure a Harvesting Client through the “Harvesting Clients” page accessible via the Dashboard. Unfortunately, I can't manage to find this page.
Thank you in advance for any help.
PS: we have installed our own dataverse instance.

Can you please try logging in as a supuser and then going directly to https://dataverse.example.edu/dashboard.xhtml (using your installation domain rather this example)? Also, can you please tell us which version of Dataverse you're running? There's supposed to be a "Dashboard" entry in the menu when you click your name (i.e. "Dataverse Admin").

Thanks,

Phil

Hi Phil,
I am using the version 4.6 build 62-c913662
I am connected as an admin but when I try to access to http://dataportal-test.inra.fr/dashboard.xhtml, I have an access denied error. Here how the admin is defined in my config:
{
    "alias":"admin",
    "name":"Admin",
    "description":"A person who has all permissions for dataverses, datasets, and files.",
    "permissions":[
        "ALL"
    ]

}

Hi Esther, that error about access being denied is expected for a non-superuser. Can you please confirm that you are using a superuser account? You can tell if the account is a superuser by the name  in the top right corner (i.e. "Dataverse Admin") being in red rather than black when you log in.

Also, I was mis-remembering where the "Dashboard" link is supposed to appear. If you're a superuser, it's supposed to appear in the header to the right of "Support" and to the left of your name, as in the attached screenshot.

I hope this helps!

Phil

p.s. More information about the difference between having an "Admin" role and being a superuser can be found at http://guides.dataverse.org/en/4.6/installation/config.html#root-dataverse-configuration . (We should probably explain this better at http://guides.dataverse.org/en/4.6/admin as well.)
