API detailed feedback

Hello Everyone,

A large number (240000) but small files are currently being uploaded to our system. The researcher has packaged them in zip format and is uploading them via API, but he does not see the upload status of the data package. Is there a way to get more detailed feedback on the upload process via API?

Hi Adam,

This is rather a large number of files! It's not something we recommend and have some guidance here: https://guides.dataverse.org/en/6.10.1/admin/big-data-administration.html#avoiding-many-files

Also, if you keep them in a zip, you can use the zip downloader/previewer to download individual files: https://github.com/gdcc/dataverse-previewers/blob/1.5/6.1curlcommands.md#zip-previewer

We have it installed on Harvard Dataverse if you want to try it out, here for example: https://dataverse.harvard.edu/file.xhtml?fileId=6867328&version=4.0
