I found myself again in the middle of a brain fart with these drive,
I received this from a client that got it back from another DR company that could not do anything, with first power up the drive was busy with LBA reallocation in the terminal and after 50sec it got ready, and I was able to get sector access at a good speed.
I thought ok let me unlock the terminal and backup system files and disable a few things in the terminal before I go any further but terminal locked as expected, this is where it all starts via the comm port I was not able to read the ROM does not matter at what speed although a similar drive I confirm I can read the ROM at most speeds so it is the patient drive. I remove the ROM and read it external and make tow copies and both identical, I created a unlocked ROM and wrote it back to the ROM solder it back on the board and with power on this message “ LED:0x000000BB FAddr:0x00004300 error” drive spins but does not get ready, I thought ok the unlock ROM is not good and copy back the original ROM to confirm and the original ROM the same ??
I wrote the original ROM via comm to the patient PCB then it complain about not a signed file and suspect it is due to the onboard flash ram that needs to be cleared as I had to do a few years ago but cant remember how I solved the same issue.
I don’t want to use the donor board and what can I do to boot up with the original board/rom and just finish the clone ?

There are a few posts online with the same issue and I use DFL for this one and the PCB is 100835923
So this I must do on the donor PCB connect to the donor drive and then write the patient ROM via comm to the board ?

Thanks I am waiting on DFL to respond if there is an updated version, then I managed to get the patient board to boot up again and am busy with disk clone, but I still would like to get terminal access.
