USB bridge bad. 
Does the nVME SSD show encrypted data when removed from USB bridge?

If the data are encrypted, when connecting to to tools, the SSD will return ABR errors on every read.

Why do you think the USB bridge is bad?

I think the NVMe is normal. 
The bridge is just a dumb bridge. 
Does not encrypt.
The NVMe can be easily detached. 
You don't have another NVMe adapter to test it with?

Doesn't look like the bridge would encrypt the SSD, so if the data is encrypted it is a firmware issue. Probably a corrupt translator.
