Hello,
I have extracted the ROM from the faulty drive (I ve repaired it)hen analyzing the ROM structure with F3 ROM Explorer, two firmware modules report CRC failures:
  • DL_BFWDIR — CRC 3168 (Bad)

  • IAP — CRC FFFF (Bad)

Screenshot attached for reference.

Thank you.
Additional note regarding urgency

I would also like to mention that the data stored on this drive is extremely important. It contains medical records of sick patients, and unfortunately there is no professional data-recovery laboratory in my country. For this reason, I kindly ask for your help and expertise.

Any guidance or support you can provide would be greatly appreciated.Thank you in advance for your kindness and understanding.

These appear to be benign. The same anomaly exists in the donor ROM.

If the drive spins up, then the PCB is most probably OK.

Hi,
The donor drive is ok ,so I guess that the pcb is  ok,
Can you explain what you want to say by " These appear to be benign. The same anomaly exists in the donor ROM"please, thanks and what can I do?

There will often be ROM segments with bad checksums, or non-existent checksums. This is normal. Some segments, eg CAP/RAP/SAP, must always have valid checksums. You need to learn to recognise when this is the case.

ok thanks, I'm on my way to learn data recovery processus, so  I may lost but I can understand what it 's mean.
So I presume that it can be regenerated by re injecting  good module?

Here is an example where two segments in your working donor ROM (00060040_DL_BFWDIR and 00040040_DL_BFWDIR) have the same CRC but different content. The first has a valid CRC, while the second does not. It appears that the "bad" segment was modified after the CRC was calculated, and the CRC was not re calculated after modification.

“Thanks for your clarification. In my patient ROM, the modules RAPM, SAPM and SFW all report BAD checksums.
I understand now that some ROM segments normally have missing or irregular checksums, but these adaptive modules (CAP/RAP/SAP) must always be valid.

This seems to confirm that my patient ROM has damaged adaptive data, probably caused by unstable Vcore (measured at 2.49 V on the original PCB).
The donor PCB works correctly on its own drive, but the patient PCB produces bad adaptive checksums when dumping the ROM.

If possible, I would like advice on how to rebuild or repair the adaptive modules using a donor ROM from the same firmware family.?

Your "original seagate barracuda 500go.bin" ROM dump has good adaptive and SFW checksums. :-?

There is no point in doing this. The problem is not on the PCB. The problem is internal. Consult your PC3K manual, or MRT manual, and show us a terminal report.
