Hamlet list for Census 2011

This question may have been asked earlier, if so, apologies.

I had downloaded the census village directories (=village amenities data) for 2011 a long time ago, as excel files. At that time, they had a second 'sheet' in the file that was called "Hamlet Data_xxxx" where xxxx was the state code. It contained a list of hamlets in each village.

Unfortunately, I now find that (at least for Madhya Pradesh) my file has hardly 17258 entries when the number of villages in MP itself is 55k plus. Does anyone have the full dataset of hamlet names? Or know where to get it from? Or am I misreading the file in some way: (e.g., that they only list villages which have multiple hamlets, and not villages with only one hamlet that matches the village name?)
