IMD data

Hi everyone, 

IMD publishes a report "Disastrous Weather Events" - http://www.imdpune.gov.in/library/publication.html

Their description mentions that this report is available from 1967-2016. However, the links only refer to 2013-2016 reports. Does anyone know if these are available in public domain or with IMD only? Has anyone collected this data? 

Unfortunately the person I was in touch with in IMD has retired so if anyone knows anything about these, it would be appreciated. 

P.S. the link also has some other interesting data - might be worth a visit for some people.

Adding to this mail, do any of you know sources for archived IMD or any other weather data for all of India or major indian cities? Since 2016-Present.

If it has fog levels, visibility levels, and rain levels, that will be great.

Hi Sidharth, 

I am not sure about the Fog levels, visibility levels etc but IMD does do district wise monthly averages for rain levels. 

I am not very good at Spatial data analysis but I do know a few friends who resorted to spatial data for this analysis as the data quality was good. You may want to explore that.
