Hello everyone,

Last week, Kaarana held the first master class on the history of electoral systems in India with Prof. Ornit Shani. The summary of the session is available to read on https://hasgeek.com/kaarana/blockchain-based-voting-systems-and-electoral-democracy/schedule/voters-before-citizens-the-origins-of-indias-electoral-democracy-Hqtf84vAzTsrVBhARuA6Du

Kaarana's weekly master classes on elections are part of the larger call for evidence to question technological changes in historical and political systems such as elections, and how these changes impact access, data security, constitutional rights, and citizenship.

In tomorrow's master class, Prof. Subhashis Bannerjee will discuss issues related to election technology and public trust, and analyze the recommendations of the German Constitutional Court as well as the recent report of the National Academies of the Sciences, Engineering and Medicine of the USA on the usage of election technology.

Date: Saturday, 15 May
Time: 4 PM

Smari McCarthy, MP from the PIrate Party in Iceland, will moderate the discussion and comment on issues of trust and transparency in the electoral processes.

Regards,

Zainab
