Dear All,

Hoping everyone finds this mail you all in good health and high spirits!. It has been exactly two months since we first got together as a group to share our work and explore ways of working collectively to unlock the full potential of legal data. Since then we’ve all advanced our own individual projects as well as met in smaller groups. Some ideas were born out of those smaller groups, like the Knowledge Management System for all things NLP and a Forum for peer learning, which Gaurav and Anubhav, respectively, will share more about soon..

It’s now a good time to reconvene, share more and generate even more collective energy.  I have created this Doodle that has three available slots for next week (Mon - Wed). If you can go to the doodle link and tick day and time that suits you the best, that'd be great. We will pick the one with the majority votes.  I’ll send out the invite with the zoom link.

The draft agenda :
1. Innovation Showcase:
i) Anubhav Mishra /LegalMinds - new NLP search bar integration
ii) Lucio Mesquita / Lawculus - new phonetics tool
iii) One slot of innovation showcase is open - We have one more place for innovation showcase. If any one of you wants to showcase your recent developments in work and get feedback from the community, please let me know. I'll add that to the agenda.

What are the existing discussion templates we have and what new ones to add?

That's it for now. Please confirm if you are joining by tomorrow and excited to see everyone next week

Saurav

Dear  Vivek, Ramakrishna, Srihari, Anubhav, Devendra, Kshitij, Gaurav S & Aakarshi,

Thank you for signing up for the working group, - How can we ensure the adoption or the uptake of the shared resources to benefit as many as possible?

Personally very excited to delve into this work and see how we can ensure whatever we create as commons gets taken up by the others. Excited to learn from all of you. I am playing a small role today to bring this working group together for our first meeting to brainstorm and identify opportunities of work here. As we speak, the other working groups are also getting together simultaneously.

Vivek, Ramakrishna, Devendra and others, before we meet, if you have good resources to share on adoption topics for all us to read, please do. It will help us get into the first meeting with a good head start.

We are a group of nine and for our first meeting, I am taking the liberty of proposing two evening times this week so we accommodate everyone. The first meeting is always hard one to figure out. But once we jump on the first meeting, it’s easier from there to figure out a time slot that works for all.

Thursday - 5 - 6.30 pm or
Friday -   5 - 6.30 pm

Please let me know which day and time works for you and please don’t hesitate to ask if you have any questions.

PS : Sharing other quick resources that might be handy

  1. Here’s a link where you will find the links to the NLP resources we are compiling as we go.

  2. Here’s the google running doc, where we are tracking the updates as go.

  3. Here’s the telegram group where we are communicating all our updates, in case you haven’t joined. I think from our working group, it’s only Devendra and Gaurav S, who haven’t joined yet. So guys please do.
