Issue with NFHS-5

Hi everyone.

Had an issue which I came across in the NFHS datasets and there is no documentation on this. 

The NFHS-5 collects information on contraceptive usage as a multiple select (i.e., all applicable options are selected) per the survey tool. The dataset post-processing converts it into a single select option (any 1 that is applicable). There is no documentation on how this is done. I am attaching screenshots for reference.

Would be great if anyone with knowledge about this could help me! Much appreciated in advance.

Dear Jagannath,

It seems you are referring to the question on ever use of contraceptive method. Please refer to the Q330 which is related to current use of contraception. In the data file, variables s321a to s321y refers to the methods ever used whereas v312 refers to current method use.
