datameet data in github- is it for commercial use?

Is the data available at: https://github.com/datameet/maps - for commercial use?
The license file says software under MIT license and there is no mention of if the data can be used for commercial use or not. But in the Permissions column it shows "green" tick against "commercial".

Looking forward to confirmation on commercial use.

Unless explicitly stated, all datasets in this repository is shared under CC BY 4.0 license. Please mention and link to relevant dataset in the attribution, eg. India boundaries by DataMeet India community (CC BY 4.0)


I think it's commerical friendly. But I am not a lawyer :)

Yup CC-by allows for commercial use. The only condition is to attribute the source back to Datameet.

(The repo readme CC BY link is incorrect. Have made a PR to fix it to https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ )
