Hello everyone,

I wanted to ask if anyone has some data on gps coordinates of landfills in cities/towns in India. The data is needed for training a model to recognise dumpyards.

Would be grateful for any help at all.

Thank you,

Regards
Advaita

This is not a direct answer, but a paper showed this morning
Automated detection and monitoring of methane super-emitters using satellite data
-- these will be a combination of landfills and coal mines.

A good starting point would be to use OSM data. There's around 500 landfills marked https://overpass-turbo.eu/s/1rJ4

Many of them could be dumping sites for mining/flyash waste. You may have to go through them manually to figure out which are municipal landfills.
