Regarding sub-district/village shape-files

Hi,

I am doing some work on mapping different kinds of Points of Interest to specific geographies and modeling growth of socio-economic data based on these points of interest.

However, I have hit a roadblock when it comes to reliable sub-district/village shapefiles, and I have observed that this is a long-standing challenge. If anyone can point me to something recent and reliable that I can pick up, I would be grateful.
