Which software should I use to check plagiarism in Ph.D thesis?  Is there any unpaid and reliable software?

Your institute will check the plagiarism report of your work..There are various softwares like Turnitin, ithenticate through which plagiarism reports are generated.

Ms. Neetu, exact information will be given by your university. However, UGC recommends URKUND and most of the universities allow this software to check the plag. You may also go for TURNITIN which does a rigorous plag check of your thesis. There are some other online free softwares available, which you can use, but for your personal satisfaction only.

The best software are: Turnitin and authenticate but both are paid.

Even Urkund is paid but  it is available in approx 1000 universities in India

Dear Neetu 

As per my experience your unpublished work especially yet to be submitted a PhD thesis should not be put up randomly over the internet on any plagiarism check software. It should be done either through the University software or through a paid software like Turnitin or Urkund. 

Generally, scholars go for a plag check for their satisfaction. Many universities also provide the usage of this software before giviNg the final play check report.
