Dear Sir/Madam,

I hope you are doing well. I am working on my data analysis using SmartPLS 4, and my model includes a second-order reflective–reflective construct. I request your guidance on the step-by-step procedure to report the measurement model and structural model for such higher-order constructs.

If possible, please suggest:

  1. Which approach is better (Repeated Indicator / Two-Stage).

  2. How to report reliability, validity, and path results.

  3. Any sample thesis (preferably from Shodhganga) or video tutorial that clearly explains this process.

Your guidance will be very helpful for completing my thesis.

Thank you.

Splendid Regards

Dear Dipankar,

Kindly see Neeraj Sir's YouTube playlist on PLS-SEM. You will get a fair idea on how to estimate the measurement and structural model in SmartPLS 4 (See the link)

1. Coming to your question on HOC, it is advisable to go for Two-Stage Approach given that it is relatively robust (reduces complexity and multi-collinearity issues). Gaston Sanchez in his book on PLS-SEM described repeated indicators approach as "poor man's solution".

2. The beauty of SmartPLS is that it gives everything a one go (reliability, validity, and path results) once you run your model.

3. Lastly, I enclose my thesis for your reference. However, I have performed PLS-SEM using R (Syntaxes are attached in the reference section). It might be helpful to you in your research. Neeraj Sir's videos had been a great help to me when I was performing my analysis.

Best wishes

Regards,
Arun
