Hello everyone, I need to use Harman single factor test and, I have queries regarding it.

Q1. Is it appropriate to include items from the independent, mediator, moderator, and dependent variables, and exclude control variables (e.g., stress, demographic variables) when conducting Harman’s single-factor test?

Q2. In my study, one of the construct is multidimensional and has three subscales. However, one of the subscale shows poor reliability and will be excluded from further analyses. In this case, should all three subscales be included in Harman’s test, or only the reliable ones?

Thank you sir for mentioning it.

I plan to use full collinearity assessment (VIF) and Harman’s single factor test to assess common method bias. However, while reviewing these techniques, these query comes to my mind.
I would be grateful, if you guide me in this regard.

Common Method Biasness can be addressed using 2 approaches:
1. Methodological
2, Statistical (Marker Variable method)
May refer to CMB-4 Remedies
Also refer to
Section- Common method biasness (CMB) and non-response bias given on Page-9 of this paper
