Hi all I am trying to take a genind object that I saved some time ago and the following error keeps appearing. Does anybody know how I can open the file?

readRDS("genind.rds")
Error in gzfile(file, "rb") : cannot open the connection
In addition: Warning message:
In gzfile(file, "rb") :
  cannot open compressed file 'genind.rds', probable reason 'No such file or directory'

Thank you so much,
Laia

Hi Laia,

Based on the file that you sent me privately, I think the problem is that you are using the wrong name.

First, move the file to your working directory. You can check what is your working directory by typing in the R console:

getwd()

Then, can you try:

test <- readRDS("genind.RData")

Cheers,
Luis
