Hello,

New DAGMC User here who is stuck trying to install the Cubit plugin. I'm using Cubit 15.6 on Ubuntu 20.04 on WSL. I've followed the instructions on https://github.com/svalinn/Cubit-plugin , but I'm unable to get the plugin to install correctly. The 'help dagmc' command in Cubit does not produce the correct results. I have Cubit installed in ~/cubit_bld/Cubit-15.6, and the .so files from the plugin were unpacked to ~/cubit_bld/Cubit-15.6/bin/plugins/svalinn . Is this the correct location? Did I miss a step? Also, since there is no release of the plugin specific to this version of Cubit, which plugin release would be correct for me?

Any help on getting the Cubit plugin to work would be greatly appreciated. Apologies for the very basic question.

Thanks!
Kevin

Hello Kevin,

Thanks for reaching out. It looks like you have a Sandia version of Cubit.  We build and test with the Coreform commercial version, but have been assured that it should work on the Sandia version.  Alas, we don't have great information about which version of Sandia cubit corresponds to ours.

Let me ask specifically about Cubit 15.6 and get back to you.

Paul

Hello,

I think I solved my problem. To troubleshoot, I tried installing Coreform Cubit, and during that process I also had to install libopengl and libxinerama. Now that I installed all of those, both Coreform Cubit and Cubit seem to recognize the plugin. I will update if I get any further strange behavior, otherwise, thanks for your help!

Hi Kevin,

Thanks so much for the update.  I'll also share this info with Coreform.
