Units for time estimates

This is a simple question: if I estimate the true values for the time parameters as Time = 2 * Nref * t, will this be in generations or years?

Thanks for the prompt reply! Following up on a similar topic, I'm trying to estimate L and after looking at past discussions in this group, I arrived at the following equation:

L = RAD Loci * avg bases per locus * (SNPs filtered / SNPs unfiltered).

Does that make sense to you?
