Hi all,

I am trying to import tsv files to the cytoscape v3.9.1.

I have tried to open the files first with the open file option and it is showing a error i.e. " Choosen file has wrong extension .tsv . Please choose another file".

When i tried to import the network file it is showing the error "Error: Could not initialize preview". I am attaching screenshots for these errors.

Could you please help me with this.

With regards,
Asutosh Mishra

Hi,

The second message you got when doing I assume "File > Import > Network from File" implies the data file has some formatting problems.
The file should be a text file with tab delimited data.

Could you attach the file you were trying to load or a part of it?

thanks,

chris

Thanks Chris for responding.

The original file which I am using is actually created in Microsoft excel with merging two consecutive .tsv files. First I have saved first tsv file as excel worksheet and then copied data from the second tsv file and pasted in the first one. Finally I have saved and converted the excel file to tsv by chaning its extension fron xlsx to tsv.

Here I am attaching part of the original file which I am using.

Hi Asutosh,

You should definitely not change the extension.  That is how Cytoscape selects which reader to use.  Change the extension back to ".xlsx" and give it another try.
