Hi together,

I am struggling on my Cyclone PCB mill.
When I am milling the PCB layer everything looks ok.
Afterwards I change the tool for drilling the holes.
The first holes (starting on the right side of the attached photo) looks ok.
Comming to the right side of the PCB the holes show a missalginement between the milling layer and the drilling layer.
I tried to improve the y-axis running more smothly and enhances the motor current to prevent lost steps, but there is still no improvement. G-Code looks also ok.

Any idea for the root cause?

Best regards,
Michael

Hi Michael,

I'd check the value of stepps/mm, specially for the Y axis.

Cheers

Make sure the coupling between the motor shaft and the gear is strong.
If they are slipping that may be the problem. Usually it is necessary to sand the shaft:

Also, maybe it is the PCB copper clad slipping from the supports because of the vibration.

Dear both,

thanks for the tipps.

The steps/mm should be ok, since the both are in the same run.

I will check the coupling of the motor shaft. Can be one reason, or the copper.
I had 3 times the same results, therefore seems this is not an random process.
Every time I tred to improve the mechanics and elecrontics, but the result was the same.
I will have a try the next days and post the result.
Best regards,
Michael
