I'm just wondering about all the roads that have just been de-designated by Sustrans, including much of rural NCR51?? In context of Quiet Lanes.
BTW has anyone a good local contact with Sustrans staff or rangers?
thanks John

Hi John,

I don't know for sure, but I doubt if the kind of roads that qualify to be Quiet Lanes would be the ones that Sustrans are de-designating.  QL have to be single-track and have fewer than 1,000 vehicles per day over them.  My understanding is that Sustrans are cutting out bigger, more hostile roads.

Thanks,

Leo

Think I'd prefer to see the money spent on pot hole filling, rather than this flag waving exercise.  Hit a hole on approach to Fram.  Thought it was my last ride..

Sorry Dave and anyone else not on the evil FB. The post was from the Quiet Lanes Suffolk group:

Shovels ready... we've finally been given the green light to deliver Quiet Lanes across the county in a cost effective, community-led way thanks to the Suffolk County Council confirmation of our 2020 Community Fund grant.

We're collating expressions of interest for QL nominations up to 30 Nov whilst the new community-led self-help process is trialled at Snape, Bentley and Glemsford.
Waves of public consultations shall follow starting early in the new year for those lanes which are deemed suitable.
