Remember ages ago when we thought Mike’s birthday was on the Ides of April, only to find out the date of the Ides varies from month to month.

Anyway, less chance she will wind up like Julius Caesar.

Happy Birthday, Mike, and here’s hoping spring has come to Vermont!

Paul

Hello, Paul and everyone of the CHS class of '63 who survives. Who thought we would live this long???!!!
Yes, SPRING has finally sprung in Vermont. Daytime temps now in the upper 60s and low 70s. Daffodils are trying to bloom.
It was a long slog of a winter.
I hope that everyone is well, and that you are taking TYL for what hurts.
Live long and prosper,
Mike T.

Happy birthday Mike.  Summer has sprung here.  It was 92 yesterday.  Hope your Spring lasts awhile.

Happy Birthday, Mike!

My daughter, Colleen, lives in Hartland and works at Dartmouth. The twins go to the U in Burlington.

Almost neighbors, I am sure.

Hey, Mike,

It’s been a heat wave down here, with record-breaking highs near 90 degrees, and a fairly significant drought, with lower-than-average rain since last August.  On the plus side, the azaleas have been spectacular, and a pair of bluebirds is raising a family in our box in the backyard.

Health-wise I’ve been able to avoid pain-killers so far, just the statins and blood pressure meds that a lot of us who have reached “a certain age” take.

BTW, I watched a YouTube video about what to pay attention to when you’re 80 plus that I thought was interesting, if a bit windy.  Here’s the link:

The next fun thing on our agenda is to go to the July 4th Festival in the town of George, Washington.  The ladies of the town, known as the Georgettes, bake an 8’ x 8’ cherry pie every year, and cherry pie is my favorite dessert.  So what the hell,  we decided to go, and we can visit my sister and niece in Oregon while out that way.  Here’s a description of the town festival:

I hope you and Für Elise have a good summer in the Green Mountain State.  I’ll forward along the greetings that the other Cubs sent for your birthday.

Attached is a photo of me taken yesterday at a chestnut orchard in South Carolina.  It’s in a gorgeous spot on the edge of the Blue Ridge Escarpment looking out over the Piedmont of South Carolina.  I think Phil Aquino has friends from Michigan that live in the community, called the Cliffs of Glassy.  Looks like you can get a house for only 2.5 mil.                https://cliffsliving.com/community/the-cliffs-at-glassy/

Our house is a bit more modest in size!

Paul

Paul….  I appreciate your thoughtfulness.  As Mike says, “Who thought we would live this long?” You, our dear friend make this damned aging a bit more palatable. Your considerate and appreciated memory peels away the years and brings up wonderfully pleasant memories (well, most of the memories are pleasant).

Thank you for being part of our lives,

Kit
