I am starting a collection for a link between Cheaptrick and KM-Airworlf, if this link is not possible, we will have to try  make the link from another node, we will budget this link based on 2xRB912(Basebox5) and 2xdp dish, but the plan is to actually buy 2xNetbox5 when they become available to make this an ac link.

Hi everyone

I will only donate again when I start achieving better download speeds than bytes up to 10kbs!!!!!!!!

Taking weeks to download a single episode is making me gatvol!! The only decent speed up to 400kbs  i am able to achieve is from darkwing. The rest on wug my download speed is so slow that it disconnects automatically.

I have no problem buying and installing the best equipment, but not going fork out a few thousand if my poor download speeds remain the same!

If the point of this new link offers me better download speeds, then I will be more than happy to continue cash donations and offer a saturday of my time to assist where ever needed.

The feeling i get on the wug in general is, that the okes on the wug dont want to help a person thats struggling on the network. They expect you to sort yourself out, forgetting the fact that we not all network gurus! Or they get frustrated when you dont talk or understand the same network language. I have been helped out by darkwing, who is a great guy and has been tremendous help, but thats the exception, either everyone is too busy, or dont respond to your questions.

6 bytes per second download speed is enough to drive anyone up the wall!

Haha Shaun that's the best way to put, donate don't donate it's totally your choice bothasig had a meeting to try and get better links the only way to get better links is for people to donate. 

Ultimatams like this is a klap in die gesig for the whole community.  If everyone had your attitude  then we can just as well upgrade no links because their will be no funds to upgrade. 

If I remember correctly jack bean help you setup to bothasig and you got a groove connecting to single pole sector which now is daulpole. Not saying this is affecting your speeds but if you ask the community before going off to buy a groove I'm sure they would of advise to by the best kit in the first place. 

I do apologise for not donating due to my financial situation at the moment but I'll make good next time.

Thanks to the admins of bothasig for all the effort  you guys put in it is appreciated. And a moerse thank you to those who have donated or pledged a donation without you guys we won't have a bothasig wug.

I paid Morne Cameron R500 cash installation fee he was charging to install my equipment. He gave me a reccomendation of the equipment I needed, which I bought brand new at scoop for R1500. He installed, setup and left, not much help came from him afterwards. I made a cash donation once already. Im not even a year yet on wug network. Like I said, dont mind bettering equipment or donating more cash to the group if it can guarentee me even 40% faster speeds.

To Any new wugger the time between deciding you want to get connected and Getting connected greatly depends on how quickly you can get some sort of  test kit and scan. Sadly it seems this was a slow process for you.

but you have to agree , from when you got someone to help you with a scan it went quick.

Anyway , long story short.

So if you are really unhappy you should discuss with him....

In all honesty getting 400kbyte on a sector with 5 other people is not bad. The issues you are getting is wug wide.

Going Dual polarity from the beginning would have been a better bet.

I think when you were trying to join, most people would look at your node and say "Not in my area, i can't help" because there is not a lot of links around royal ascot.

 

but more importantly, i have done some work on that sector, and speeds in general looked better, please can you confirm if your speeds have changed since the weekend.

 

if you are able to get 400k (4mbit) to me, then that is probably your speed to the sector, download speeds are dependant on where you download from, since Bothasig only has one major link out at the moment, anything outside Bothasig is slow. this is the reason we are looking at these new links.

 

currently our link to KMSquare is unavailable (Pro99-NextLevel is down)

Ryan-KM is down (as far as i know Ryan is working on it)

We are testing links to KMSquare, KMAirwolf and NoRM from Pro99 and Cheaptrick, all of which should help our area get better throughput.

 

I have also been trying to source some spare equipment to get you a grid to grid link into our area, which would help you, and potentially anyone else in Royal Ascot who would like to join.

 

lastly, Donations are completely voluntary, nobody is required to justify their decision to donate or not donate.
