Universities Waiving Application Fee Oct. 17-21

I was wondering whether you all could share on the listserve if you are waiving application fees for transfer students during College Application Week/National Transfer Student Week, October 17-21. CFNC will publish a list of colleges and universities waiving application fees for first-year applicants on October 1, but, at least in the past, their list did not specify whether transfer students were also eligible for the waiver.
We’d love to share this information with our students.

Hello,
UNCW is waiving the $80 application fee for transfer students during National Transfer Student Week (Oct. 17-21). The waiver is only available for transfer students applying for the Summer or Fall 2023 term and will be automated so they don’t need to complete
a fee waiver request.

To be eligible for a fee waiver, you must meet one of the qualifications below.
I am eligible to receive a federal Pell grant.
My annual family income falls within the Income Eligibility Guidelines set by the USDA Food and Nutrition Service.
My family receives public assistance; I live in federally subsidized public housing, a foster home or homeless.
I have received or am eligible to receive an ACT or SAT testing fee waiver.
I am enrolled in a federal, state, or local program that aids students from low-income families (e.g., TRIO programs such as Upward Bound).
I am a ward of the state or an orphan.
I can provide a supporting statement from a school official, college access counselor, financial aid officer, or community leader.
Other economic, family or personal circumstances.
Fee Waiver Submission Instructions
Eligible transfer applicants applying through the NC State Transfer Application can indicate directly on their application that they qualify for a fee waiver.
You will be required to list a contact person to verify how you qualify for a fee waiver. This person will submit an electronic form on your behalf verifying that you qualify for a fee waiver.
Eligible transfer applicants applying through Common App or Coalition App can indicate on their application that they qualify for a fee waiver.
Once the application has been submitted and you have gained access to wolfPAW, you will be required to list a contact person to verify how you qualify for a fee waiver. This person will submit an electronic form on your behalf verifying that you qualify for a fee waiver.

While UNC Chapel Hill does not automatically waive application fees for students, we do have a process in place for students to request a fee waiver if the fee is a barrier.
