Looking for info on all CSOB board members that built/supported the club we currently enjoy.

What I've got follows: any help adding to and filling in the gaps would be greatly appreciated.

All
I was one of the founders with Fred, Bud, and several others, did not serve on board. Bought trailer, sold ads to help start Stags and women’s side. Got sponsors for around 4000.$ which bought kit for both teams.
Thanks Herk for thinking of me

I started playing with the Colorado Senior Old Boys, CSOB, in 1998.  My memory is vague on many things from that time and I didn’t know many of the guys. As I remember, the executive council then was mainly the original founding members.  It was obvious that Fred Alexander and Earnie Obrien were the core.

It was about 2000 that the XXXX Goldies, on tour from Brisbane, scheduled a stop in Denver.  To facilitate their visit many details had to be coordinated so the council took on a bit more structure.  I was in charge of fundraising with Earnie. I don’t remember specifically who was in charge of lodging for the players, pitch, refreshments, party and so on. Key players on the council were Brian Fitzgerald and his wife Ronnie.  Cliff Kimble was there, along with Ron Servis, Gary Baum, John Grummel, Chris Obrien, Sal McNally, and Pat Quinlan.  There were others but my memory sucks.  That was the council as I remember it then. There was still not a formal structure of club officers. Fred was president, and Earnie was VP and treasurer.

It was right after that my wife Clara and I were on the council full time.  We were given tasks such as ongoing fund raising, assisting Earnie by setting up tent and tables to facilitate swag sales, washing jerseys, reserving pitch locations and helping to manage equipment.  It was also at that time that we started helping Earnie manage the Golden Oldies tours.

Talk to Pat Quinlin, but as I remember, he set up and managed the first CSOB/Ol’ Pokes Golden Oldies Festival tour.  After that Fred and Earnie were Team Managers for many festivals.  In 2007, after working with them for several festivals they decided to hand the Golden Oldies Team Manager position to me and Clara.  Then after several festivals, due to family and health issues, we handed the Golden Oldies Team Manager duties to Greg and Cheryl Chvatal.  Then, after several festivals, because of Greg’s health issues, Clara and I stepped back in at the last minute to help Cheryl for the next two festivals.  Then Brad Poszin was set to be team manager for the Ol’ Pokes when the festival was to come to Denver.  But, the Golden Oldies organizational difficulties cancelled the festival.

While Clara and I were working Golden Oldies Festivals, Jeff and Debbie Calhoun stepped in as President.  It was at their leadership  when the organizational structure of the CSOB was set more formally in place. Others were involved and assigned to specific offices and duties.  At that time, Clara and I phased out.

There are many details, events, and volunteers along the way, but this is generally how I remember the evolution of the council.

Hey Jeff Billy Goodell (not related to Roger) from New Orleans!
Reading this reminded me to reach out and say hi and thanks for including me as a recidivist CSOB many years ago.
I signed up for the Vancouver gig and hope you and Debbie can make it.
Been too long since we visited and took the pitch together.
I still have my CSOB Aspen “Most Valuable Back” trophy that I don't feel I really earned but nonetheless am forever proud of.
I also still have two of your CSOB t shirts (a long and short sleeve) with the classic CSOB purple and gold embroidered logo — they still fit but have seen better days( a few small pinholes and a little dingy grey hue)
I don't know if it is feasible but i think it would be great if you or someone can get some made for Vancouver.
I’ll buy two of each, make that three, if you can.
Just tell me where to send the money.
Hope to see you in Vancouver.
Later Man!

Thank you, everyone, for the responses,

Sorry for my delay, I was out of town, dragging my son to Iowa to visit his great-grandmother!

I'll try to parse, and pull things together the best I can... Be warned.... I may follow up :)

Any further input will definitely be also appreciated.

I appreciate everything every one has done to make this club what it is today.

~Keith
