Minimum age to appoint a director in a private company

Dear All,

Need your suggestion:

There is no minimum age for appointment of Director mentioned in the Companies Act. So what is the ideal age for appointment of Director?

If an individual attains age of 18 can we appoint him as a Director of the Company?

Under the Companies Act, 2013, the minimum and maximum age is not defined, but in particular it is mentioned under Section 196 of the Act the Age Limit of MD, WTD and Manager - Minimum Age - 21 years and Maximum Age 70 years.

As per the Contract Act, 18 years is the age of majority. Below the age of 18 years does not have capacity to enter into a contract.

Hence, for general directorship 18 years is the minimum age limit to work in the capacity of contract.

People below 18 years aren't able to execute contracts, how would he be able to do that on behalf of Company if he becomes a director.
