ESIC - dormant status

Dear All,

Kindly guide how to mark dormant status of any newly incorporated company on ESIC portal. I saw many tutorial videos but the page that they show after LOGIN is different then what I'm getting. Where can I be going wrong? Any idea?

You can mark as dormant status initially for 6 months, from the date of incorporation.  After that you can mark dormant status.

you need to contact your local esic office and submit application/ latter for obtain dormant status..

Steps for Applying for the Dormant Status:
1. Go to esic.gov.in and click on Employer Login.
2. Login to ESIC Portal.
3. A tab opens for selecting whether the company wishes to opt for Dormant Status.
4. When you opt for No in the first option, the provision of ESI Act 148 is not applicable on the company with immediate effect and the system asks you to mention
the grace period till that period dormant status remain valid.

Hi all,

Your company will get initial dormant status of 6 month if you want extend that for futher 6 you need apply before the end of 6 month(however it's not specified anywhere but from my past experience I think atleast one month before the expiry of 6 month).
Once your dormant status change to active you need to file return within 15 days from the end of the month even if you don't have employee you still have file nill return.

If you are seeing first page different from the tutorial video then you can't obtain dormant now. You need to file nill return.

Once status is changed from dormant to active you need file nill return till you don't cover under esic
