LLP-designated partner

Dear Members,

I have a query regarding appointment of Designated partner

definition of Designated Partner " means any partner designated as such pursuant to section 7;

Query: For designation any person as a designated partner in a LLP,  whether he should be a Partner of a LLP as per LLP act or

existing partner may appoint any other person as Designated partner

Kindly revert your views on these

Existing partners are empowered to appoint any kind of partneri.e., Partner or Designated Partner,as  Nominee (DP), as Nominee(Partner).

Is this about the LLP wanting to be a partner in another LLP or about appointment of a sleeping partner in the LLP?
