Security Clearance from MHA for foreign national of a country sharing land border with India

Hi,

We are trying to incorporate a private limited company which is a subsidiary of company incorporated outside India. One of the directors of the proposed company is citizen of China, residing in India for more than 2 years now. In order to obtain DIN, we are required to obtain security clearance from Ministry of Home Affairs, if the applicant is a national of a country sharing land border with India (MCA Notification No GSR 410 (E) for Companies Appointment and Qualification of Directors Amendment Rules 2022).

It would be very helpful if anyone can share the procedure for obtaining security clearance from MHA.

Furthermore, The Ministry of Home Affairs has introduced Security Clearance Portal https://scponline.mha.gov.in/ It is a Centralized web application developed to digitize and streamline the applications of security clearances related to Foreign nationals handled by the Foreigners Division, MHA (viz. clearance for visiting protected areas/restricted areas/ Indian Territorial waters, for shooting of documentary/ films etc.). The Portal will provide various benefits including reduction of processing time, hassle free process, paperless operation, and creation of data base.
