Sectionals

Dear all

I am really pleased that the band has responded so positively to the contest. We are in a good position to make a decent show of it - well done all!

I write, following my meeting  today with Richard (and as several people have inquired) to ask if someone from each of the following groups would agree to be a point person to organise sectionals, dates/times/venue etc. (Richard has agreed to organise group 3).

The groups are:

1. cornets (all)
   
2. flugel, horns, baritones and euphoniums
3. trombones and tubas (Richard will organise)

If it could be discussed as soon as possible I would appreciate it.  Danny has kindly agreed to take these but please bear in mind that Tuesdays and Thursdays would likely be preferable.  If we can get you all on board, effective work could be done in one sectional per group.

Hi all,

I hope everyone is doing okay! My lungs are still not up to playing and it is physically impossible to play for more than a minute :( I have spoken with Cath and have said that I'm more than happy to help out with sectionals if you need me too.

Let me know any dates and times if you need me to help out and lend a listening ear!

Thanks go to Laura and Graeme for their offers of help (along with Danny) - much appreciated.

@Laura : Sorry to hear of your ongoing battle to return to playing, a listening ear at sectionals from someone who isn't focused on playing or conducting would be very useful (it could also be of use at a full rehearsal !)

@Graeme : Cornet sectional co-ordination can wait until Wednesday's rehearsals, when we can optimise the timings of the sectionals based on people's availability.

@All : please bring your diaries (virtual or otherwise !) to this week's rehearsal to help us sort this out.
