The server side part is in the Roadmap,
A Language Server Protocol implementation is made by https://github.com/kofno/scry, it compiles with crystal 0.22.0 and works with crystal-ide extension but just for syntax checking.
I'm thinking to include Scry in my extension too, but I want to keep vscode-crystal-lang lightweight for now (Scry size is around 30Mb)

You need to choice just one.
Crystal-IDE is good but lacks of symbols and completion for now, in the other hand vscode-crystal-lang have symbols and method completion working out the box.
