Hello guys,

the website cryptopp.com is down. It's having a timeout issue (on my end that's what I get at least). I don't know whether the right people know about it, but I need the wiki to get started with the library and I can't reach it. So I just wanted to let you know, just in case.

Ack, thanks.

I can't connect to the VM either. I pinged Wei about it. He can get
into things through the virtual console.

This problem is being tracked at
https://github.com/weidai11/cryptopp/issues/1022.

The short answer is, Wei told me to find a new hosting service and
restore from backup.

I'm talking with hosting providers now.

I wanted to post an issue on github at first, but seemed more appropriate to post it here after reading the guide there, so You can lock, trash or do anything with this conversation, if You wish.

Hi Everyone,

We are cutting over to a new VPS provider. The website and manual are restored (easy). Next is the wiki and its database (hard).

You can get to the site by IP at the moment: http://198.251.77.197/.

I asked Wei to change DNS for the new VM. That change should happen shortly.

We got the web server restored late last night, and SSL access
restored this morning. The private key has not changed so pinning is
still works as expected.

We were able to restore the wiki database this morning, but Media wiki
is giving us trouble. Stay tuned.

As an upshot, we are now using Ubuntu 20 with modern software and
tools. That means modern OpenSSL, so TLSv1.3 is available. No more
CentOS and antique software and tools.

I think the new VM may have some networking problems. It looks like it started around midnight.

Systemd is not starting networking and reporting 200/CHDIR. Its too bad Systemd does not document the error in their manuals...
