This is not an election year so there is no need to be concerned
about electing officers or Directors

CSC President Christine Gaspar will open the meeting and
Allan Randall will follow with a financial report.

The title of the message is 2025 CSC AGM "happening soon",
but since all the AGM  topics are being posted here, it is
in fact, the actual AGM

I am hoping we can have a discussion in this AGM
about SST for Canada. I would appreciate comments
from Carrie concerning how capable Calgary is of SST

Christine indicates that local equipment and support
is poor, but wants professional options.

Hello Ben, thanks for kicking off the yearly AGM. I am quite busy in the middle of building out my promaster XLT van to conduct full-body field perfusion of cryoprotectant. I have installed a cantilever tommy liftgate and I will be halfway through the build in early October. I have unpacked 2 pallets of equipment from Tomorrow Biostasis (Berlin, Germany). They have supplied me a full perfusion circuit along, surgical equipment, medical equipment, and all equipment needed to conduct a full field case and it set me back about 40k euros. It was a lot of stuff. I don't really like to say much until I am closer to being done or fully done. I have unpacked this and put into clear tupperware containers with labels on the outside so I don't lose track of what I have. Late last year with the guidance of Iris from PDC and Emil, I had purchased a heart/lung machine with 4 roller pumps. I'm slowly building up my equipment. The main thing I am missing is an ice bath because BT said they would send me one but it turns out they need all of them. I was kind of caught flat-footed with that one, I found out it wasn't happening in August. I'll have to find a fabricator to make one.

We are in the middle of renovating a 16,000 square feet building in downtown Calgary to be a conference/performance center along with a place to store the cryonics van and equipment. We are also looking at purchasing the derelict hotel next to our futurist club building to expand our business model. My husband is seeking millions in city funding to help restore a landmark historic St. Regist hotel. This is an aside to my main cryonics project. This building is of interest to us because its right up against our facility and we could do more if we had two buildings, we could join them to have a larger building. Also the hotelier business could be easily profitable.

That is a very ambitious project you have taken-on, Carrie, with much
equipment, but not many people to use it or benefit from it,
unless you have helpers I do not know of.  Lauren? Christine is
skeptical of the volunteer model for implementing cryonics SST,
despite the fact that Toronto has used that model with some
success in the past. If Christine or Houston would provide
the minimum number required to run a professional SST
case, it would be of interest. Are you planning to align
yourself with RBS, Carrie?

The cryonics jargon, for those who don't know: SST:

S -- Standby, team and equipment waiting near a terminal
cryonics patient, waiting for pronouncement of death
S -- Stabilization, ice bath, thumper, blood washout, meds, etc
to reduce the degradation of tissue due to ischemia, etc
T -- Transport, shipment of the cryonics patient to the
       cryonics perfusion/storage organization.

Ben, you are aware I am working very closely with RBS and I have attended almost all of their training events. In February this year I brought two paramedics from Calgary with me to train. I have been slow to hire anyone because there is no point yet. Once I have my vehicle and building done along with a contract with Mckinnon & Bowes then I will be in a better position to hire paramedics on retainer. I know I need about 5-6 people like this as contractors to make this feasible.

I don't intend to use volunteers, I intend to use hired paramedics who attend regular training with me in addition to in Florida. Furthermore, my company (Cryonics Rescue Canada) is included in the contract between RBS and PDC so I do have access to their surgeons and perfusionists if I do go that route. I don't have a problem with using these professionals.

In addition, I am hoping to hear about progress from Christine on the swiss embassy with respect to shipping bodies from Canada to Switzerland. I understand she has been fairly slammed with casework and writing case reports so I haven't bothered her about it lately. Christine is wearing a few hats right now so I understand if it is not her top priority but I thought the funeral director (Mckinnon & Bowes) could perhaps take this on.

I would hope Christine would be able to fly out to Calgary to assist if I were to have any cases. I could potentially get a working VISA for RBS/SA staff too, they would probably be happy to help to get more experience if I had the legal paperwork in place.

It would seem to be a good idea to buy the old St. Regis hotel
and renovate it. I read that Donald Trump bought a building in NYC
for $1M and had it renovated. Then it went up to $400M. I read
that in "Start Late; Finish Rich" by David Bach.

Best regards,
James

I know you have done many trainings with RBS, Carrie, but
my question was do you plan to offer services under the
RBS umbrella, such as NYC does, and offer services to
Tomorrow Biostasis under the contract between
RBS and TB.

That would be sorted out later. I'm not too concerned about it right now, more concerned about technical capabilities and equipment.

I just spoke to Houston, who said that you could be a contractor
for RBS as needed.  Houston and Christine have ambitions of being
able to provide SST for all of Canada, but the devil is in the details,
which are being address piece-by-piece.

I have a few comments.

Will the paperwork and agreement with the Swiss Embassy be back-and-forth transportation, Canada and Switzerland, Switzerland, and Canada, or just one way?!

There’s a contract being made. I think it would be better to have them both way.

Also, what is the hotel for?

One very important detail is how American SST professionals can
be legally authorized to work in Canada. If RBS works as a
contractor for your organization, Carrie, then possibly your
organization could then hire RBS SST professionals as
contractors. Aaron Drake's International Cryonics Experts (ICE)
seems to have overcome this problem in many countries, including
Canada, where ICE has done some cryonics cases.

I spoke to our Secretary/Treasurer Allan Randall who informed
me the Corporations Canada does not accept PO Boxes for
Canadian Corporations. I have been encouraging Allan to
get a PO Box both as an address for CSC as well as a place
for members to mail dues, communicate with CSC formally, etc.
I would not be wanting CSC to use Allan's or anyone else's
street address to be published on the CSC website, but Allan
suggested another alternative, which I did not understand.
Allan, could you provide clarification on this matter?
