accept-charset for http-bridge

I have need to publish special characters using the HTTP Bridge Services Publisher. I can set the charset in the POST request to UTF-16, but it then gets rejected by crossbar for not being UTF-8.  Is there a way to set crossbar to accept other charsets in the HTTP Bridge?
