One of our members is in dire need of the entire Cascade Paragliding Club help to save his son who is critically ill and needs to be operated urgently. If you look at the address properties, it is not coming from the cpc club email. It looks like a scam.

Definitely not from CPC email. No idea where it came from. I did get an email to our inbox as well, which I marked spam

It's interesting, because it is just an e-mail designed to look like a CPC one. The text of the e-mail and the use of the CPC logo suggests it was all hand crafted rather than extracted automatically from information on the google group (the CPC logo isn't part of the group info). The group only provided a list of e-mail addresses. Given the effort involved, someone must think paraglider pilots are especially dumb!

Like Etch, I've marked the e-mail itself as spam.

Definitely a scam. It should be reported to PayPal. If you have given money to this thing, I believe PayPal has an easy processes to get your money back just like credit cards have fraud protection.

If its a scam they did a fairly good job with it.  The email came from a legit source, and only the display name matches the club name, which is why it got past some spam filters.  The images are also hosted over at amazon, so depending on your mail service they don't get blocked - came through fine on my gmail account and google does a really good job with that stuff.  The sketchy part is the donate link, which doesn't lead to gofundme at all, but https://frus-gofun.artsmile.org.uk/ which then redirects you to paypal so you can give them money.  I'll give it a 7/10, they're probably raking in cash with this one.
