Dear colleagues,

the IGF Secretariat has just opened the IGF Call for Session Proposals on its Web site: https://www.intgovforum.org/en

This year's meeting will take place in Nairobi, Kenya, from 14 to 18 December 2026, under the overarching theme, “Governing the Internet in the Age of Intelligence: Our Shared Responsibility”.

The Dynamic Coalition on Core Internet Values has, in recent IGFs, co-organised a session that fitted this overarching there, so I believe we really stand a chance in proposing a session that will align well with this year's theme.

I therefore ask you to start the discussion as to what DC-CIV should propose.

For your information, prior years, we have (co-)hosted:

Once again, it is also emphasised that Dynamic Coalitions should work together to make joint proposals. In the past, we have worked with the DC-NN (Network Neutrality). Earlier, we also have worked with the DC-IoT (Internet of Things). There may be other opportunities, so please make suggestions for this too.

Kindest regards,

Olivier Crépin-Leblond

Olivier,

thanks a lot for taking this initiative immediately as the announcements and calls were made.

I have made progress in extending the 6-factor framework to the understanding of the effects of AI and where to apply some urgent mitigations. Will be glad to discuss. I think we can come in with a strong proposal this year. Let's have a discussion soon - we do need to have and document intersessional work!

Hello all,

one week left until the deadline for applications of workshops for IGF 2026.
The call for proposals is at: https://www.intgovforum.org/en/content/igf-2026-call-for-session-proposals

The the IGF 2026 overarching theme is "Governing the Internet in the Age of Intelligence: Our Shared Responsibility".

Given the previous sessions we have held at past IGFs and the recurring AI Governance theme, I would have thought we have several opportunities for a follow-up workshop on a similar theme?

Proposals welcome.

Kindest regards,

Olivier

Dear Colleagues,

many thanks to the people who have stepped forward to help draft the proposal:

Joint DC-CIV and D-AIG - Bridging Internet and AI Governance: How can Core Internet Values inform AI governance?

This is currently at:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1XoSi5rEJQ35X5O4GN4DjwhOGY25Uk3JeMgtjSktYsRs/edit?usp=sharing

Please comment directly on the document.
At present, we have added some initial speaker names, but please suggest more speakers to have a balanced world view.

Also in 2024 and 2025 we had joint proposals with the DC-NN (Network Neutrality) and the resulting sessions were a real success.
This year, Luca Belli proposed that we'd do a joint proposal with the DAIG, the Dynamic Coalition on Data and Artificial Intelligence Governance.
IMHO, this collaboration fits very well with the topic we are proposing to address in this draft.

The proposal is also very much in-line with the overarching theme of this year's IGF.

The deadline for submitting the proposals is today - 31 July 2026, 23:59 UTC

With apologies for leaving this open feedback to the last minute, please comment as soon as possible.

Kindest regards,

Olivier

Wow -- and ONE minute after I sent this email, I received an email from IGF Secretariat:

📢 Updated Deadline: The deadline for IGF 2026 session proposal submissions has been extended to Sunday, 2 August at 23:59 UTC.

So this gives us a little more time to refine the proposal, speakers etc.

Kindest regards,

Olivier

Dear Olivier,

thanks a lot for this superb piece of work and your always tireless yeoman's service!

I hope other members like it too and pitch in to participate - we CAN use a more diverse set of speakers! Come on everybody, put your names forward and propose suitable others!
