Hi LachlanTime commitments remain a bit tricky for me, but I do have a few Access Control unit prototypes that could easily be re-purposed to trigger an open/close operation.John

Some time ago (*) Rob B donated an automatic roller door opener. It sits in a cardboard box beside Bessie/behind the bins, wondering about its true calling.I'm thinking we should look at mounting it up and connecting it up to the door access access system.I'm also thinking that if we did this, we wouldn't need to use the side door so much, with its weather related quirks and allSo I'm looking for a few helpers who might be interested in working as a team to make this happen. There would be a mix of hardware and software and grunt, just like the initial side door access project

We could connect a touch sensor as per side door and by pass any radio gear. Would only make it more reliable and we could control who has access rather than having to find remotes.Regards Rob B

Cef, once I find the remotes, we'll have a much better idea of what can be doneMy inclination though, would be to go with what already works and use it for a while and learn the issues. The door is old and needs to be treated kindlyOf course if we can't find the remotes, I fear for the electronic frankenstein that may ensue
