We are exploring Concerto version 3. Since IFrames were removed, is there another way to have Concerto content be built from a URL?

We should add iframe support :). It wasn't dropped intentionally, I just wasn't sure if anyone was still interested in it.

Tracking @ https://github.com/concerto/concerto/issues/1894/, should ship in a day or two.

Hi Brian,

Thank you for the quick response! It has already updated  our image.

I do however have another question.

In the scenario where there are 3 positions on a template Main , Ticker and Time, we would assign content to one feed. We would have one feed for the entire template. It seems now that each position needs its own feed.

Is there a way around that?

Clarifying question - is this an iframe issue, or are you running into it for other content types too?

Concerto 3 tries to be smarter about what content should render in each field/position, but there's room to improve this logic. I expect iframes are particularly buggy right now.

Hi Brian,

I think it is across the board. If I create content with an image and another content with text and put them both in the same feed. I edit a screen that contains Blue Swoosh as the template and assign the same feed to each of the fields. I only see Ticker display the text. Main and Sidebar fields are both blank.

Another question. When setting up OIDC authentication, what is the return URL we give the IDP?

I think I've managed to re-create some of the problems using a single feed for a single screen @ https://demo.concerto-signage.org/frontend/2. The same ticker text renders in all 3 fields, and the same graphic renders in 2 fields.  Ideally, the graphic should only render in the 1 Main position and the ticker text should render in the sidebar or the bottom ticker, but not both.  Tracking @ https://github.com/concerto/concerto/issues/1906

For the OIDC authentication, the redirect/callback URL to register with the identity provider should be something like https://<your-concerto>/users/auth/openid_connect/callback.  Let me know if this works and I'll add it to our documentation, i've been meaning to write up how to setup OIDC.

Hi Brian,

Thank you again for looking into this.

  1. Yes I did see that issue however I was referring to another situation. On the previous version of Concerto, we were able to create content for each of the fields on the template and assign it under one feed. That one feed would then assign content to each of the fields. The new version requires a feed for each field.
  2. I configured the OIDC with the callback url however now I am hitting the following known issue : https://github.com/concerto/issues/1656
