Also, if you did not get the drinks package, only order water at meals because they charge you a lot in the dinner if you get drinks there, and any place you are offered drinks , like shows or games they will charge you. You can always get drinks in the machine at the buffet.

Elizabeth and I did the formal dinner last time, the kids opted out, there are plenty of options other than the dining room. I didn't wear a tie, but this was a different ship, still Carnival.

The buffets and various stations around the ship have water, lemonade, and ice tea available all day. In the mornings they have juices. So for all meals you can get those, except in the dining area I think it's just water. The soda drinks package isn't really worth the cost, there aren't many places you can get soda and the soda offerings are very limited.

If you want soda the best thing would be to go with Heather on the Walmart run and bring some in your bag.
