High School Fall Tournaments

Please read on for more information on the upcoming playing opportunities and coaching certification.
The High School league is off and running, but nothing is more fun than tournament play! To that end, AYU is partnering with Monarch and Fairview to bring you some mid-season tournaments.
- Date: Sat-Sun / Oct15-16, starting at 9a
- Site: Monarch High School and Monarch K-8, in Louisville
- Divisions: Mixed (4:3 gender ratio) and Funplay (no gender ratio requirements)
- Team fees: $250 for Mixed, $75 for Funplay
- Number of teams: we are not capping the number of teams … yet. But if we have to we will, so please register as soon as possible.
+ Mixed has 5 fields, so ideal numbers are 8 or 10 teams and we can accommodate 12 fairly easily, but we’d prefer not to add teams beyond that because it requires shortening games and adding byes into the scheduling.

- Site: Fairview HS in Boulder
- Division: Mixed - Costumes Required!

This means that you will need to roster players on your team with USAU as well as coaches and chaperones. This will be required for the State Championships anyways, so may as well get it done!

Certification Reminder:
For teams competing at USAU sanctioned middle school or high school state championships, at least one coach must hold the respective certification.

These are both USAU sanctioned tournaments, so that means a couple admin tasks are required in order to be able to play:
- #1: ALL players must have paid/valid USAU memberships (with signed waiver and medical form)
- #2: ALL players must be rostered online on the USAU website (with vetted chaperone)
All players who are going to want to play in the end-season State Championship tourney will need to take care of these 2 admin tasks, so you might as well get them done in Oct and avoid the stress of finishing up admin tasks to be able play in States.
Note: the longest lead time item is getting a criminal background check done on a chaperone – it can take at least a week to hear back with approval from USAU’s vendor.
Consider yourself nudged … please get going on admin stuff. The first event, Mohi Invite, is only 3 weeks away.
