iPad Pro 9.7" latest iOS Version

Hi!

On the new iPad Pro 9.7" the screen switches complete off after orientation change for a short time. You can download this video from my computer to see this:

It appears only on this of my iPads, not the iPad Pro 12.9" or iPad4.
I have created a new app using the "Hello World"-Example without any modifications.

Hi,
is this with a simple unmodified version of the hello world?

Yes! We have it on all our apps, but for demonstration I created the simple hello world and build it without any changes at the code.

What versions of iOS are your iPads running?  So far I haven't been able to reproduce this on any of my devices so I'm curious if the iOS version is a factor.

They're all on the same version of iOS?

Hmm.  That is very odd.  I don't have an iPad Pro 12.9 to test with.  Since they are all on the same version of iOS, it wouldn't appear to be a version issue.  If you run across any other differences between these devices (e.g. settings), please let us know.

If you have a Mac with Xcode, you might also try plugging it in when this happens and check the device log to see if it tells us anything useful.

Not the (big) iPad Pro but the (small) new iPad Pro 9,7 inch display.
I have use Xcode but no device-log for the app.

This is the app-log in Xcode:

2016-06-03 00:25:13.596 AveedoMobile[384:62645] Drew image on 1536, 2048 for display 2048, 1536

2016-06-03 00:25:13.697 AveedoMobile[384:62645] Snapshotting a view that has not been rendered results in an empty snapshot. Ensure your view has been rendered at least once before snapshotting or snapshot after screen updates.

New issue: Because the iPad was connected to my mac I started Quicktime to record the iPad-Screen. During the Quicktime-mirroring is running the orientation changes works well. After stopping Quicktime mirroring I got the same effect as before. Maybe something with the dynamic framerate of the iPad Pro?
I will try to "hack" the project to start the app in iPad Pro 12.9 inch native display mode.

Yes - same issue: Starting the app on iPad Pro 12.9 inch in native screen resolution gets the same effect as seen in my video - only in a higher resolution. iPad Pro 12.9 inch in "small iPad"-emulation works well. Perhaps in this emulation mode iOS don't use the new dynamic framerate-feature.

Thanks.  I'll look into the dynamic frame rate feature and see if that leads anywhere.
