Android Gallery won't work in 1 week

Come November we won't be able to submit android app updates with API 28. CN1's android gallery doesn't yet work with API29. In the absence of a fix, does anyone have a workaround for this?

This is stumping us a bit.

Can you try adding the build hint:

android.xaplication=android:requestLegacyExternalStorage="true"

Hopefully this will help.
