The Upland Sandpiper, originally found by Jay Breidt, continues along Larimer County Road 5. It was seen on the east side of the road approximately 100 yards north of the first cattle guard just north of the railroad tracks that cross County Road 5. The bird was seen along the crest of the slight rise on the east side of the road at this point and then worked its way down into the low area that is 125-150 yards off of the road. The small head and long skinny neck were obvious with a straight yellow bill. The back and wings were a mottled brownish gray with light centers to the feathers. The bird was significantly taller that Meadowlarks nearby.
