Wood Duck Duckings at Cottonwood Marsh

There was a wood duck hen with 8 tiny, black ducklings on the west shore of Cottonwood Marsh (at Walden Ponds) at 4:00 PM.

And at 6:15 this morning, there were 17 male wood ducks and one female on the small pond in the NW corner of Sawhill Ponds.

We saw them again today, 10 ducklings, now with light color on their heads and breasts, apparently twice as big as yesterday. Mother and ducklings were swimming in a tight group at a furious pace.
