A pair of Borrow's Goldeneyes continues at Watson Lake (Jan 30). I saw them fly into the lake from the Poudre River downstream, spend 30 mins on the lake and then, move to the river upstream of the lake. There was no sign of the Golden Eagles that traditionally nest on the cliff face nearby. A little further South of Watson Lake, at Reservoir Ridge Natural Area, I spotted a pair of Western Grebes swimming in one of the bays of Horsetooth Reservoir. I also spotted a Rough-legged Hawk hovering in the late afternoon winds.
