I started the morning at Lake Loveland trying to make out birds at long distances in heavy snow. I was able to ID an adult Lesser Black-backed Gull and several common species. No sign of the Dunlin, the Pelicans, or the Glaucous Gull reported as recently as yesterday - but given the viewing conditions, fogging of my optics, and my own modest ID skills they may still be there.

My second attempt at the Mountain Avenue (Fort Collins) Yellow-throated Warbler stakeout reported here yesterday was a bust. I was told the bird was seen by others at about 8:30am today. I guess I should have gone here first!

A quick stop at the Museum of Discovery yielded expected species plus one somewhat unexpected Ruby-crowned Kinglet. Hopefully it will stick around for a week as this can be a tough bird to find on the FTCO CBC.
